Holland Teorisinin Işığında Meslek Kişiliğinin Ölçülmesi

Bu çalışmanın amacı meslek psikolojisinin en önemli teorilerinden birisi olan Holland Teorisinin ışığı altında geliştirilen 55 maddelik mesleki ilgi ölçeğinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmasını yapmaktır. Holland’a göre kişiliklerine göre meslek yaşamında altı tip birey vardır: Gerçekçi, Araştırmacı, Sanatçı, Sosyal, Girişimci ve Geleneksel. Bu teoride bireylerin kişilikleri mesleki ilgilerine göre ölçülür. Çalışmaya bir üniversitenin kimya eğitimi, bilgisayar ve öğretim teknolojileri eğitimi ve müzik eğitimi bölümünden toplam 310 öğrenci katılmıştır. Sonuçlar genel olarak Holland Teorisinin hipotezlerini desteklemiştir. Yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini ispat etmesine rağmen 8 madde ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini bozmaktadır. Beklenildiği gibi bu üç bölüm öğrencilerinin mesleki ilgilerinde farklılıklar ortaya çıkmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon ve çoklu ölçekleme analizi Holland altıgeni ile çelişen sonuçlar ortaya çıkarmıştır. Her ne kadar Holland teorisinin bütün hipotezleri bu çalışma da desteklenmese de, geliştirilen mesleki ilgi ölçeği Türkiye’de yapılan mesleki rehberlik hizmetlerinde bireyleri tanımak ve onları uygun kariyerlere yönlendirmek için bir ölçme aracı olarak kullanılabilir.

The main purpose of the current study is to examine the reliability and validity of a 55-item vocational interests scale prepared in light of Holland’s theory. According to Holland, there are six personality types in the workplace: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. People’s vocational personality is measured by looking at their vocational interests in this theory. 310 pre-service teachers from there departments including chemistry education, computer education/instructional technology and music education participated in the study. Results, in general, supported the premises of Holland’s theory. Although the results of confirmatory factor analysis supported the construct validity of the scale, 8 items possessed poor psychometric properties. As expected, there were significant differences among the pre-service teachers in these departments in terms of their vocational interests. The results of correlation and multi-dimensional scaling analyses produced contradictory results with the Holland’s hexagon. Although the propositions of Holland’s theory is not fully supported in the current study, we believe that our scale can be utilized confidently as an instrument to measure people’s vocational personality and help them to choose a career that fits their personality
