Silindir kapak contası bir motorun en hayati parçalarından biridir. Bir aracın güç, güvenilirlik ve dayanım gibi temel performansını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden olan bu contalar gaz ve gürültü emisyonları ve araç ağırlıklarının azaltılması gibi çalışmalarda önemli rol oynarlar. Bu kadar önemli olmalarına rağmen gerek aracın üretimi esnasında gerekse servis esnasında conta seçiminde temel faktör olarak maliyet alınmakta gerekli conta performansı ve diğer özellikler göz ardı edilmektedir. Ancak gerek üretim gerekse motorun revizyonu sırasında ortaya çıkan maliyetler, çok pahalı bir contanın maliyetiyle bile mukayese edilemez. Motor ve conta teknolojilerindeki gelişmelerle birlikte conta seçimi daha da kompleks hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada yeni silindir kapak conta teknolojileri ve conta seçiminde dikkat edilmesi gerekli faktörler incelenmiştir.

The cylinder head gasket is one of the main parts of engine. These gaskets are one of the most important factors affecting the main performances such as power, reliability and endurance. Also they have the main role in the studies such as reduction of gas and noise emissions and total weight of vehicle. Although their versatility, cost is determined as the primer factor of gasket selection during both production and service of vehicle but the required gasket performance and other properties are not taken into consideration. The costs in the manufacturing and maintenance of vehicle can not be compared even to the most expensive gasket cost. The gasket selection becomes the more complex by development in engine and gasket technologies. In this paper, new cylinder head gasket technologies and the factors must be considered to selection of gasket are discussed.
