Otomotiv sanayii ve yan sanayi ürünlerinin Avrupa Birliği yönetmeliklerine uyumu aşamasında çözümü gereken çok sayıda teknik sorun ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bazı ürünlerin uyumu geliştirme yolu ile sağlanabilirken, bazılarının da tamamen yenilenmeleri gerekecektir. Bu konuda gerek Avrupa Birliği gerekse ulusal yönetmeliklerin getirdiği sınırlamalar açısından en fazla dikkate alınması gereken hususların başında egzoz ve gürültü emisyonlarına uyum gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Amerika Birleşik devletleri 'nde ve Avrupa Birliği ülkelerinde yakın gelecekte yürürlüğe girecek egzoz ve gürültü emisyonu şuurları ve bu sınırların karşılanmasında uygulanılacak yöntem ve politikaların gelişimi ele alınmıştır.

Some technical problems will be encountered by the Automobile Industry during the adaptation phase to the future legislations of Eurepean Union. It will be possible to solve some problems by product devolopment whereas redesign of some other products will be necessary. A specific problem, hoth from the view of Eurepean and national limitations, is the adaptation to the legislations for exhaust and noise emissions from road vehicles. This work deals with the new limitations of exhaust and noise emissions which will be mandatory in the near future. Policies to determine the limits and methods to fullfil this limits are also diseussed.
