Muhasebe bilimi, hem uygulamalı hem de bilgiyi üreten bir bilim olması nedeniyle, küreselleşme olgusundan ve bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan devrim niteliğindeki gelişmelerden bağımsız olarak düşünülemez. Mevzuattaki, muhasebe standartlarındaki, ekonomideki, bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerindeki değişmeler/gelişmeler muhasebe mesleğini ve muhasebe bilgi sistemini doğrudan etkilemekte; dolayısıyla da muhasebe mesleği değişime ayak uyduran kişileri arar duruma gelmektedir. Bu kişilerin yetiştirilmesi de ancak bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin ve bunlara ilişkin sistemlerin geliştirildiği ve uygulandığı muhasebe eğitimi veren platformlara gerekli alt yapıların oluşturulması ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Bu çerçevede, bilgi çağının temel bilgi ve iletişim araçlarından web tabanlı interaktif e-öğrenme sistemlerinin muhasebe eğitiminde kullanımının nasıl olması gerektiği üzerinde durulması gerekmektedir. Dahası bu şekilde verilen muhasebe eğitimlerinin sürekli eğitim uygulamalarına dönüştürülmesi gerekmektedir.

As the science of accounting is a science both producing the information and applied, it can be not be considered independent from the concept of globalization and the revolutionary changes taking place in information and communication technologies. Advancements and changes in regulations, accounting standards, economy, information and communication technologies directly affect profession of accounting and accounting information system; accordingly, the profession of accounting has come to look for the people who can catch up with these changes and advancements. Education of such people can only be rendered possible with the establishment of sufficient infrastructure in platforms where information and communication technologies and related systems are effectively developed and in use. In this regard, it seems to be important to investigate how web-based interactive e-learning systems, one of the basic information and communication tools of the information age, can be used in accounting education. Moreover, the accounting education provided in this way should be turned into life long learning applications.
