Статья посвящена научному анализу "Отчетов" данного общества о пребывании их представителей на Северном Кавказе в 1817-1819 годах. Автором статьи исследуются политические отношения России и народов Кавказа, история и культура черкесов, татар, карачаевцев и балкарцев, ногайцев, осетин и др. Особое внимание уделяется вопросам религии на Северном Кавказе, а также нравственно-этическим взаимоотношениям в быту у народов Северного Кавказа: обычаям, обрядам, нравам, законам обычного права и т.д.

The article is devoted to the scientific analysis of the "Reports" of this society about stay of their representatives in the North Caucasus in 1817-1819. The author of the article investigates the political relations of Russia and the peoples of the Caucasus, history and culture of Circassians, theater of Karachays and Balkars, Nogais, Ossetians, etc. Special attention is paid to religion in the North Caucasus, as well as to moral and ethical relationships in the life of peoples of the North Caucasus: customs, traditions, ceremonies, laws of common law, etc.
