Researching The Future Of High-Tech Architecture Through Futuristic Cinema

High-tech architecture is a postmodern architectural movement that began in the 1960s and continues today. It has been heavily influenced by the changing world and technological innovations in architecture and has become a new trend. Like most architectural movements, high-tech architecture has tried to avoid associations with the past. Steel, glass and concrete are seen as the most common building materials in the structures that have been created under the effect of this trend. As the movement evolved, the materials used in high-tech architecture have also been devolved under its influence. Transparency has come to the forefront in high-tech architecture, sometimes by explosion of the structure to the ecterior and sometimes by making it visible in interior. Hence, the definition of high-tech structure has changed day by day. This paper intends to study the history of high-tech architecture since the 18th century and to reveal the changes in definition. The future of high-tech architecture was examined through futuristic cinema of the 21st century.
