Türkiye’de zihin felsefesinin Batılı ülkelerle kıyaslandığında henüz oldukça genç bir alan olduğu kolaylıkla söylenebilir. Bu alanda yazılmış Türkçe eserlerin çoğunluğunu halen çeviri eserler oluşturmakta. Alanın yapay zekâ felsefesi gibi oldukça revaçta olan bir alanla ilişkisi de dikkate alındığında, Türkçe felsefe literatüründeki boşluk hemen dikkat çekmektedir. Bu kitap incelemesi, Erhan Demircioğlu’nun yakın zamanda yayımlanan Makinedeki Hayalet: Zihin Felsefesine Giriş adlı eserini incelemektedir. İçeriği ve kullandığı yöntemi analiz ettikten sonra bu inceleme; yalın ama yüzeysel olmayan bir dili başarılı bir şekilde kullanması, kuram ve karşıt kuramları diyalektik bir şekilde ele alması, temel problemlere yönelik çözüm önerilerini bu önerilere getirilen itirazlarla birlikte karşılaştırmalı olarak analiz etmesi gibi yönlerini dikkate alarak eserin kendi alanında başarılı bir eser olduğu sonucuna ulaşmaktadır.

It may be said that philosophy of mind in Turkey is still a very young field when compared to Western countries. Most of the Turkish works published in this field are mostly translated works. Considering the relationship of the field with the philosophy of artificial intelligence, which is very popular, a gap in the Turkish literature in this field immediately draws attention. This review examines a recently published book titled Ghost in the Machine: An Introduction to the Philosophy of the Mind by Erhan Demircioğu. After analyzing its contents and the method it uses, the review reaches the conclusion that the book is a successful work in its field based on several of its aspects such as using a plain but not superficial language successfully, examining theories together with counter-theories in a dialectical manner, and analyzing the suggestions of solution for the main problems in a comparative manner together with the objections brought to these suggestions.
