Türkiye Biyoetik Derneği veteriner hekimliği, tıp, eczacılık, diş hekimliği etiği uzmanları ve akademisyenleri tarafından, Türkiye’de bu disiplinin temsil edilmesi ve bu uğraş alanının çalışmalarının teşvik edilerek özendirilmesi gereksinimi ile 1994 yılında Ankara’da kurulmuştur. Amacı, Türkiye’de sağlık uğraşlarında ve biyoloji gibi temel bilimlerde ve eğitim-iletişim-hukuk gibi belli başlı mesleki etkinliklerde ortaya çıkan değer sorunlarının incelendiği ve çözüm yollarının önerildiği çalışmalar yürütmektir. Dernek bu hedefe yönelik olarak ulusal ve uluslararası çapta bilimsel tartışma platformları hazırlamak, yayın faaliyetleri ile çalışmalarını somutlaştırmaktır. Dernek’in üyeleri yaşam ve sağlık bilimleri, sosyal bilimler, sosyoloji, felsefe gibi disiplinlere mensup kişilerden oluşmaktadır. Ayrıca bilimsel çalışma yönteminde disiplinlerarası yaklaşımı üstün tuttuğu için, halk sağlığı, aile hekimliği, tıp eğitimi, hukuk, felsefe, sosyoloji, tıp ve biyomedikal bilimler disiplinlerinden Dernek faaliyetlerine fahri olarak destek veren üyeler de yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Tüzüğünde belirlenen hedeflere yönelik olarak Derneğin, 2007 – 2012 yılları arasında yaptığı etkinlikler incelenecektir. Dernek e-Bülteni, Dernek internet sayfası, üyeler ve kamuoyuna sunulmuş olan raporlar – kılavuzlar, Dernek Görüşleri, sempozyum, kongre kitapları gibi basılı materyaller, UNESCO, EACME, GLEUBE gibi uluslararası ve TTB, ITO gibi ulusal kuruluşlarla yapılan ortak çalışmalar; alanla ilgili yasal düzenlemelere sunulan katkılar, üretilen telif ve çeviri eserler retrospektif olarak ele alınacaktır. Bildirinin amacı, bir uzmanlık kurumu olarak Türkiye Biyoetik Derneği’nin, ürettiği hizmet ve faaliyetlerini, sağlık bilimleri etiği ve diğer ilgili disiplinlerin uzmanlarına yol gösterebilme ve Türkiye’de biyoetik literatürüne katkı verebilme yönleriyle analiz etme ve bilim tarihi hafızasına bir not düşmektir.

The purpose of the Declaration, as a specialized agency, produced by the Association of Bioethics, service and activities in Turkey, health science ethics and other related disciplines are experts in bioethics literature contribution to augmenting path and analyze aspects of Turkey and the history of science is a note from memory.
