Bu çalışmada asırlardır sadece kadınlara özgü bir meslek olarak bilinen, belki de kadın-erkek rekabetinde erkeğin mesleki anlamda kadının gerisinde kaldığı tek alan olan hemşirelik mesleği içinde erkeklerin konumuna tarihsel bir bakış amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada Türkiye’de hemşirelik mesleğine hızlı bir geçiş süreci yaşayan erkeklerin yanında dünya genelinde hemşireliğe katkıda bulunan erkek hemşire sayılabilecek hasta bakım elemanlarına da değinilmiştir

In this study, it is aimed to look at the historical position of men in nursing which is known as a female profession for centuries , perhaps the only profession where the man are left behind the woman in the competition of man and woman. It is also stated in this study not only the male nurses in Turkey who has a rapid transition into nursing but also the male patient care personnel who has contribution to the nursing all over the world
