SPOR BİLİMLERİ FAKÜLTESİNDEKİ ÖĞRENCİLERİN LİDERLİK ÖZELLİKLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Bu araştırmanın amacı; öğrencilerin liderlik özelliklerinin düzeyini belirlemek ve cinsiyete, okuduğu bölüme, sınıfa göre karşılaştırmaktır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel model benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2018–2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesindeki öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise basit seçkisiz (olasılıklı) örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenen 217 öğrenci oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada, Cansoy, Türkoğlu ve Parlar (2016) tarafından geliştirilen “Liderlik Özellikleri Ölçeği” veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı, 6 alt boyutta [Özgüven (8 madde), Grupla Çalışma (7 madde), Güvenilir Olma (5 madde), İkna Yeteneği (3 madde), Problem Çözebilme (3 madde) ve Sorumluluk (2 madde)] 28 maddeden oluşan 5’li likert tipi bir ölçektir. Bu araştırmada liderlik özellikleri ölçeğinin tümü için Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı .85 olarak bulunmuştur. Verilerin analizinde frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi ve ANOVA analizleri uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda; öğrencilerin liderlik düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Cinsiyete göre yapılan karşılaştırmada güvenilir olma ve sorumluluk boyutlarında kadınların erkeklere göre daha yüksek düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin liderlik özellikleri bölümlerine göre karşılaştırıldığında grupla çalışabilme ve güvenilir olma boyutlarında spor yöneticiliği bölümündeki öğrencilerin antrenörlük bölümündeki öğrencilere göre daha yüksek sevide olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sınıflara göre yapılan karşılaştırma sonucunda; 4.sınıfların 1.sınıflara göre daha yüksek özgüvene, ikna yeteneğine ve sorumluluğa sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

DETERMİNE THE LEADERSHİP QUALİTİES OF STUDENTS IN SPORTS SCIENCES FACULTY

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the level of leadership qualities of students and to compare them according to their gender, department and classes. Descriptive model, one of the quantitative research methods, was adopted in the research. The population of the research consists of students at Akdeniz University Faculty of Sport Sciences in the 2018-2019 academic year. The sample consists of 217 students whose sample is determined using the simple random (probabilistic) sampling method. In the research, "Leadership Qualities Scale" developed by Cansoy, Türkoğlu and Parlar (2016) was used as a data collection tool. Data collection tool is a 5-point Likert type scale, in 6 sub-dimensions [Self-confidence (8 items), Group Work (7 items), Reliability (5 items), Persuasion Ability (3 items), Problem Solving (3 items) and Responsibility (2 items)] from 28 items. In this research, the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient for the entire scale of leadership qualities was calculated as .85. Frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, unpaired t-test and ANOVA analyzes were used for data analysis. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the leadership levels of the students were high. In the comparison made according to gender, it was concluded that women were higher than men in terms of reliability and responsibility. When the leadership qualities of the students were compared according to their departments, it was concluded that the students in the sports management department had higher levels of group work and reliability than the students in the trainer education department. As a result of the comparison made according to the classes, it was concluded that 4th graders have higher self-confidence, persuasion ability and responsibility than 1st graders.
