Turizmin hizmet sektörü içerisinde yer alması ve tam anlamıyla otomasyon kullanımına imkân vermemesinden dolayı insan gücüne olan ihtiyacı diğer sektörlere göre daha fazladır. İnsan gücüne olan ihtiyaç nedeniyle her eğitim düzeyinden eleman turizmde istihdam edilmiş ancak eğitim eksikliğinden dolayı hizmet kalitesi istenilen düzeyde olamamıştır. Bu duruma çözüm olarak yükseköğretim düzeyinde turizm eğitimi veren kurumların 90’lı yıllardan bu yana sektöre nitelikli eleman yetiştirmek amacıyla sayılarının hızla arttığı görülmektedir. Turizm eğitimi veren okulların hızlı artışı bir takım sorunları beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de (KKTC hariç) önlisans ve lisans düzeyinde eğitim veren kurumların özel nitelikli sorunlarını ele almaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, son 20 yılda 10’ar yıl (1992-2002-2012) ara ile gerçekleşmiş “Turizm Eğitimi Konferansı” çalışmalarının konu ile ilgili bölümleri incelenerek genel bir değerlendirme yapılmış ve çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur

As tourism takes part in the service sector and it refuses to allow full automation, the need for manpower is higher than other sectors. Due to the need of manpower, each education level of people have been employed in tourism, but it has not been at the desired level of service quality due to lack of education. As a solution of this situation, it is seen that the number of institutions given tourism education at the higher level rapidly increased to train qualified personnel since the 90s,. Tourism has a number of problems with the rapid growth of schools. In this study prıvate characterıstıc problems of institutions given undergraduate and graduate-level tourısm educatıon in Turkey (except Cyprus) are discussed. In this concept, a general assessment and various suggestions have been made by examining the relevant parts of "Tourism Education Conference" studies in the last 20 years held once in a decade (1992-2002-2012).
