Mandibular resorption due to progressive systemic sclerosis: A case report

Progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS) is a connective tissue disorder of unknown origin causing a multisystem disease. The mask-like facial apperance, impaired mouth opening, widening of the periodontal ligament space and resorption of the mandible have been reported as among the common oral manifestations of PSS. In this report, a case of PSS with general extra oral /facial finding and extensive mandibular resorption is presented.
