Mitoloji, Kur’ân-ı Kerîm Kıssaları ve Kültürel Miras

Scholars said many things and debated severely about mythologies, which are products of the collective consciousness of humanity. This is the result of the inconstant nature of mythologies. Consequently, various methods can be pursued to examine mythologies. Indeed, there are theories that consider mythologies “with regard to their accuracy” and reject them for being inaccurate; there are also theories and methods, which consider them to be products of the collective consciousness of humanity and take them as functional data, in understanding the realm of culture. I believe that the best and the firmest way to establish a sound perspective in this regard requires that one takes the stories told in the holy Qur’an into account. With this in mind, in this article I am going to first provide a conceptual analysis of this issue. Next I am going to discuss what kind of a method is followed in theQur’an with regard to relating stories—which frequently occurs in the Qur’an, so that we can determine the way the Qur’an presents the issue. In light of the results obtained through these discussions, I am going to attempt to establish how the issue took shape in the religious-cultural structure.
