The role of ıntravenous pyelography, ultrasonography and computed tomography ın the dıagnosıs of bladder tumors

39 patients who had cystoscopically verified bladder tumors were all examined with IVP, (JS and in 19 cases with also CT, prior to cystoscopy. Tumors were grouped according to their dimensions and the diagnostic accuracies of these methods were evaluated in different tumor size groups. Furthermore, radiologically measured diameters of the tumors were compared between these modalities (IVP, US and CT) and also with cystoscopic dimensions in respect to significance. It was concluded that the diagnostic accuracies of CT and US were 100 % and 94.9 % respectively whereas 71.8 % in IVP. The accuracy of IVP was directly proportional with the tumor size.In the comparison of tumor size, there was no significance either between different radiological methods or between the radiologic and cystoscopic results. So, we came to the conclusion that, the diagnosis and the size of bladder tumor can be correctly estimated with IVP, US and CT before cystoscopic examination.
