General guidelines for computerized medical information system on patient care: Examples of some state and university hospitals in Turkey

Computerized Hospital Management Information Systems that have been in use in Turkey contain information on all patients admitted to inpatient or outpatient units of the hospitals. Among the data are the routine demographic information, history of prior therapy, illness history, physical examination findings, laboratory results such as hematology and clinical chemistry, serology, virology, bacteriology, Immunology, urine analysis, parasitology, blood gas analysis data, and the reports of anatomical and surgical pathology, roentgen, ultrasonagraphy, tomography, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, EEG, and surgery, patient discharge summaries and billing charges.
