Lise Coğrafya Ders Kitaplarının Fiziksel Yapı, Tasarım İçerik, Dil ve Yardımcı Materyaller Açısından Değerlendirilmesi: Diyarbakır Örneği
Bilgisayar teknolojileri ve araştırma temelli öğretimdeki gelişmelere rağmen ders kitapları eğitimciler için hala en önemli öğretim araçlardan ve öğrenciler için vazgeçilmez bilgi kaynaklardan biridir. Bundan dolayı ders kitaplarının yüksek kalitede olması elzemdir. Bu çalışma da 50 soruluk bir ders kitabı inceleme formu kullanılarak yayın tarihleri 1998 ile 2006 tarihleri arasında değişen 15 coğrafya ders kitabı incelenmiştir. Ders kitaplarını genel görünüm, fiziki görünüm, içerik, kelime ve cümle yapısı ile yardımcı materyaller bakımından değerlendiren bu formlar, 31 coğrafya öğretmen adayı tarafından uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonuçları Türkiye 'deki coğrafya ders kitaplarının dil ve anlatım açısından gayet iyi bir durumda olduğunu gösterirken, aynı kitapların fiziksel yapı, eleştirel düşünceyi geliştirme ve öğrencileri yaşama hazırlama konusunda eksik kaldıkları ortaya koymuştur.

Evaluation of High School Geography Textbooks in Terms of Physical Properties, Design, Content, Readability and Supplementary Materials: A Diyarbakir Case Study
In spite of the increasing use of computer technologies and research based teaching, textbooks are still one of the most important teaching tools for educators and a crucial learning resource for students. Therefore, it is essential that they be high quality. In this particular study, the quality of high school geography textbooks is evaluated by using a 50-question textbook evaluation form, which included questions regarding textbook physical properties, content, readability and supplementary materials. Fifteen high school geography textbooks dating from 1998 to 2006 were examined by thirty one geography teacher candidates. The results of the study show that although high school geography textbooks in Turkey are in a quite good condition in terms of language and readability, their physical condition is poor, they do not develop critical thinking, and they are not good at preparing students for real life.
