Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin cevizde mevcut üretim ile gelecekteki üretim ve gereksinim tahmini incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla 1999-2019 döneminde gerçekleşen üretim ve talep verilerinden yararlanarak, 2020-2045 yılı üretim ve gereksinim miktarı tahmin edilmiştir. Türkiye’de ceviz üretim miktarı 1999 yılında 120 bin ton iken, 2019 yılında % 87.50 oranında artarak 225 bin ton olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Türkiye’de bu üretim artışa rağmen, 2019 yılında iç ceviz talebi 289 bin ton olup, Türkiye kendi üretimi ile bu talebi karşılayamamaktadır. Bu nedenle Türkiye ceviz gereksinimini ithalat yoluyla temin etmekte olup, ceviz dış ticaretinde açık vermektedir. Nitekim 2018 yılında Türkiye'nin ceviz ithalatı 103 bin ton iken, ihracatı ise 30 bin ton civarındadır. Türkiye’de meyve veren ağaç sayısı 1999 yılında 3.525 bin adet iken 2019 yılında % 319.18 artışla 11.251 bin adete yükselmiştir. 1999-2019 döneminde ceviz üretimi ile meyve veren ağaç sayısı arasında yüksek düzeyde bir ilişkinin (r=0.870) olduğu belirlenmiştir. Aynı dönemde meyve vermeyen ağaç sayısında ise % 769.54 artış olmuştur. İncelemenin sonuçlarına göre 2020-2045 döneminde ceviz üretiminde ve gereksinimde artış olacağı öngörülmektedir. Türkiye’de ceviz üretimi 2045 yılına kadar 550-600 bin tona yükseleceği tahmin edilmektedir. Gereksinim miktarının ise dönemsel eğilim ve talep artışına göre 500-560 bin ton civarında olması öngörülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, 2020- 2045 döneminde Türkiye’nin cevizde kendine yeterli bir ülke konumuna geleceği tahmin edilmektedir.

In this study, current production rate as well as the projections of production and needs for walnuts in the period of 2020-2045 in Turkey were evaluated. For this purpose, the production and demand amount of 2020-2045 was estimated by making use of the production and demand data obtained in the period of 1999-2019. While the amount of walnut production in Turkey in 1999 was about 120 thousand tons, it became 225 thousand tons as increased by 87.50% in 2019. Despite this increase in production, domestic demand of walnut in 2019 was about 289 thousand tons, and Turkey could not meet its own demand. Therefore, Turkey has imported walnuts and there has been foreign trade deficit for the country. In fact, while Turkey's imports for walnuts in 2018 were around 103 thousand tons, the exports were about 30 thousand tons. Although the number of fruiting trees was about 3 millions 525 thousands in Turkey in 1999, it increased with the rate of 319.18 % up to 11 million and 251 thousands in 2019. It was determined that there was a high level of relationship (r = 0.870) between walnut production and the number of fruit-bearing trees in the period of 1999-2019. In the same period, there was a 769.54% increase in the number of trees that did not bear fruit. According to the results of this study, it is estimated that there will be an increase in the demand and the production of walnuts in the 2020-2045 period. In fact, walnut production in Turkey is estimated to rise to 550-600 thousand tons by 2045. As for demand, it is calculated to be around 500-560 thousand tons according to the periodic trend and demand increment. As a result, it is expected that Turkey will have a feature of self-sufficiency for walnuts during the period of 2020-2045.
