Saddle Nose Deformity And Reconstruction

The saddle nose deformity is characterized by nasal dorsum depression and most commonly results from the decreasing of nasoseptal support. Etiopathogenesis usually involves non- surgical trauma or surgical excision of the bone and cartilage. Many valuable classification schemes for saddle nose have been suggested that integrate clinical deformity and surgical treatment; however, there is no consensus regarding the most suitable classification and surgical method for saddle nose reconstruction. Autogenous and alloplastic materials frequently used for functional and aesthetic reconstruction. This article reviews current knowledge about etiology, classification and reconstruction of saddle nose deformity.
