Current Approach to Latex Allergy in Children

AbstractLatex is obtained from rubber tree called Hevea brasiliensis(Hev b). It is bothcheap and flexible, making it widely used in health-related areas and everyday life.In addition to causing reactions such as urticaria, angioedema, asthma, anaphylaxisand contact dermatitis with natural latexcontaining proteins, it has also increased the issue of causing cross reactions with certain foods. In fact, latex allergy has begun to attract attention as a separate problem in health care workers and has become an occupational disease (1,2,3).
