How can I Teach the Patient to Count Carbohydrates

AbstractIn diabetic individuals, nutritional therapy is an indispensable element for blood sugarregulation. It is very important for nutritional therapy to be feasible and sustainable. Oneof the most common meal planning methods in diabetic individuals is carbohydrate counting. Carbohydrates are nutrients that affect blood sugar as a primer. The method ofcarbohydrate counting is a meal planning method that allows the dosage of carbohydrate to be consumed at meals and the dosage of insulin to be adjusted according to theblood glucose values. With this method, diabetic  individuals can provide better glycemic control. Diabetic complications can be prevented by providing target blood glucose levels. Much work is needed to explain the relationship between blood glucose re-ulation and carbohydrate counting.
