Turkish folksongs, known as türkü, one of the most important complements of Turkish national culture, represent an-other richness with their regional diversifıcation. The türkü kind with satirical lyrics on social themes, produced extemporaneously both in melody and words, is called atma türkü in the Black Sea region of Turkey. This article makes an introductory survey into this kind.
