Practical approaches to the determination of the sample size in clinical studies
The problem of sample size determination is an important and generally difficult step of planning the statistical part of a clinical study. In this paper, some suggestions are made for determining the sample size in a successful and meaningful way. In order to design a high-quality clinical study with reliable results, practical tables and guiding clues are presented for sample size determination of t-tests for paired and independent samples.
