ERGONOMİ-İNSAN FAKTÖRLERİ VE DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİNDEKİ ÖNEMİ

Ergonomi, insanların çalışma ortamlarındaki verimliliğini inceleyen multidisipliner, uygulamalı bir bilimdir. Bireyler ile günlük işlerinde kullandıkları araç ve gereçler arasındaki etkileşimi optimize ederek güvenliği ve verimliliği arttırmayı amaçlar. Diş hekimliğinde ergonomi uygulamaları; zaman, mekan ve hareketteki verimliliği en üst düzeye çıkararak ve diş hekimliği uygulamaları sırasında ekipteki; hekim, hasta-diş hekimi yardımcısı dahil herkes için fiziksel ve zihinsel stres miktarını en aza indirmeyi amaçlamaktadır . Diş hekimlerinin mesleği icra ederken kas ve iskelet sistemi (KİS) hastalıklarına yakalanma oranı oldukça yüksektir. Mesleği bırakmaya sebep olabilen ve tedavisi zor ve yaşam kalitesini çok etkileyen mesleki KİS hastalıklarını önlemek diş hekimliğinde ergonomik uygulamaların bir diğer amacıdır. Diş hekimliği uygulamaları bir yandan ince motor becerileri gerektirirken diğer yandan da zaman baskısı, çok sayıda alet ve ekipman kullanımı ve hasta kaygısı nedeni ile oluşan fiziksel ve zihinsel yorgunluğun iyi yönetilmesi gerekmektedir Diş hekimliği, hekim-hasta-yardımcı personelden oluşan bir ekip çalışmasıdır. Bu ekibin fiziksel, ruhsal, biyolojik denge ve uyumu için ergonomi kurallarının diş hekimliğinin her alanına uyarlanması ve kullanılması uzun vadede bu ekibin başarı ve kazanımlarını çift taraflı arttıracak ve farkındalık yaratacaktır.
