Web of Science Veri Tabanındaki “Platelet-Rich Plasma” Başlıklı Makalelerin Bibliyometrik Analizi

American Journal of Sports Medicine en etkili dergidir.

Bibliometric Analysis of "Platelet-Rich Plasma" Articles in Web of Science Database

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a widely used method in musculoskeletal diseases due to its regenerative effect and anti-inflammatory potential properties. With this study, it is aimed to make bibliometric analyzes of the articles on “Platelet-Rich Plasma” with the science mapping method. Within the scope of the study, the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) database was examined and 1249 articles matching the search criteria in the orthopedics, sport science and medicine research experimental categories were included in the study. Bibliometrix, VOSviewer and Excel programs were used for bibliometric analysis. It was found that the first article was published in 1980. While there was not much change in the number of articles until 2006, there was a significant increase after this year and the highest number of articles (n=151) was published in 2021. Prof. Giuseppe Filardo from Italy is the most influential author in terms of publications and citations. When the top 20 leading authors are evaluated, it can be said that Italian origin authors and orthopedics and traumatology specialists are leading. The most influential researcher orthopedics and traumatology specialist in Turkey, Prof. Ahmet Murat Bülbül. In terms of countries, the USA, China, Italy, Turkey and South Korea are the leading countries. The American Journal of Sports Medicine is the most influential journal. Platelet-Rich Plasma, Osteoarthritis, Growth Factors, Tendinopathy, Knee keywords were used most frequently in PRP. It is expected that the number of articles will increase in the coming period. It is believed that the results of the study will increase the knowledge and awareness of the researchers. In future studies, it is recommended to examine the WoS database in other categories other than the three categories discussed in this research.
