Administration of Midazolam for Premedication Applying a conscious premedication provide us appropriate conditions for anesthesia induction and maintenance and preventing the postoperative complications. Benzodiazepins are Üre most effective group of drugs for this aim. In this study, midazolam one of the benzodiazepine was used for premedication. We investigate the effects of midazolam on mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), saturation of oxygen ( Sa02) and sedation level (SL). Forty patients (ASA I-II) were divided into two groups. Each group implied twenty patients. Group 1 (Midazolam group) were premedicated by 0.07 mg/kg intramuscular midazolam thirty minutes before the operation. Group 2 (Control group) were nonpremedicated. MAP and HR were measured before premedication, at induction, after intubation and extubation and than compared these values between two groups. There were no significant differences at MAP, HR values before induction, at induction and maintenance of anesthesia between two groups.
