Hemşire Öğrencilerin Kendi Kendine Meme Muayenesine Yönelik Sağlık İnançları

Genç kadınların kendi kendine meme muayenesi (KKMM) ve uygulamalarına yönelik çok az çalışma vardır. Özellikle sağlık alanında çalışacak ve halkın bilinçlenmesinde önemli role sahip olacak hemşire öğrencilerin meme muayenesi ile ilgili inançları gelecekte bu yöndeki uygulamalarını etkileyebilir. Bu tanımlayıcı araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin KKMM'ne yönelik sağlık inançlarını saptamak için yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya 155 hemşirelik öğrencisi katılmıştır. Veriler anket formu ve Champion' un meme kanseri taramalarında sağlık inanç ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Veriler tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile t testi ve Mann-Whitney U testleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçta öğrencilerin duyarlılık ve öz-etkililik algılarının orta düzeyde, önemseme, sağlık motivasyonu ve yarar algılarının yüksek ve engel algılarının ise düşük olduğu saptanmıştır. Nursing Students' Health Beliefs Intended for Breast Self Examination Very little research is available about young women's breast self examination (BSE) health belief and practice. The purpose of descriptive study was to determine nursing students' health beliefs intended for breast self examination. This research included 155 nursing students. Data were collected using self-administrated questionnaires and Champion's Health Belief Scale, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Results found nursing students' BSE health belief scores to be high for perceived serio us ly, health motivation, and benefits; moderate for perceived sensitivity and self-efficacy; and low for perceived barriers.
