Obezite ve anestezi

Obezite, dünya çapında büyüyen bir sağlık problemidir ve gittikçe artan sayıda obez hasta cerrahi operasyon geçirmektedir. Obezitenin genel populasyonda mortalite ve morbiditeyi artırdığı bilinmektedir. Bu yüzden cerrahi sonrası istenmeyen sonuçlar açısından risk faktörü olarak algılanmaktadır. Bu durumda obez hastaların değerlendirilmesini gerektirmektedir. Bu hastalar preoperatif dönemde titizlikle değerlendirilmelidir. Olası sorunların öngörülmesi hem intraoperatif hem de postoperatif dönemde daha güvenli bir takibi mümkün kılar.
