The effect of gender on the depth of the anterior chamber in patients with Pseudoeksfolyatif Syndrome

Purpose: To determine whether there is any effect of gender on the anterior chamber depth in Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome (PS). Material and methods: The patients who received cataract surgery in Tokat State Hospital were evaluated retrospectively. The patients with PS were receipt to work. Patients were divided into two groups according to gender: group 1 (male) and group 2 (female). The data of both anterior chamber depth and axial length of the eye were recorded. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age (p> 0.05). Anterior chamber depth was 3.18 ± 0.34 mm in group 1 and group 2 was 3.23 ± 0.42 mm, respectively (p> 0.05). while in group 1, group 2, 21.4 ± 1.5 mm 22.1 ± 1.4 mm, respectively (p> 0.05). Discussion: There is no significant difference in both anterior chamber depth and axial length of eye between males and females with pseudoexfoliative syndrome.
