Kate Raworth’un orijinal adı “Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist” (2017) olan eserinin Türkçe ilk baskısı 2019 yılında “Simit Ekonomisi: 21.Yüzyıl İktisatçısı Gibi Düşünmenin Yedi Yolu” başlığıyla yayımlanmıştır. Kitap, Hyman P. Minsky’nin tabiri ile “istikrarın kendisinin istikrarsızlık yarattığı” ana akım iktisadi düşünce, retorik ve pratiklerine alternatif sürdürülebilir bir model oluşturmaya çabalaması anlamında önemli bir adım atmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, adı geçen kitap içerik ve kapsam açısından eleştirel bir biçimde değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma, konuları ele alış ve işleyiş açısından, yazarın eleştirdiği teorilerin alternatifi olabileceğine inandığı önermelerini ortaya koyması nedeniyle bugüne kadarki pek çok çalışmadan farklılaşmaktadır. Teorinin temelinde yer alan simit kavramının en büyük etkisi, ekonominin hem biyofiziksel bir tavana hem de etik bir sosyal zemine sahip olduğunun ifade edilmesidir. Ekonomiyi yeniden şekillendirirken Raworth, insani ve ekolojik değerleri tek bir modelde bir araya getirerek ekonomik değerleri yönlendirmek için bir pusula ortaya koymaya çalışmıştır.

The first Turkish edition of Kate Raworth's work "Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist" (2017) was published in 2019 with the title “Simit Ekonomisi: 21. Yüzyıl İktisatçısı Gibi Düşünmenin Yedi Yolu”. The book takes an important step in striving to create an alternative sustainable model to mainstream economic thought, rhetoric and practices, where, in Hyman P. Minsky's words, "stability itself creates instability". In this study, the mentioned book was tried to be critically evaluated in terms of content and scope. This study differs from many previous studies in that it presents the propositions that the author believes can be an alternative to the theories he criticizes, in terms of handling and functioning of the subjects. The biggest impact of the concept of doughnut, which is at the base of the theory, is the expression that the economy has both a biophysical ceiling and an ethical social ground. While reshaping the economy, Raworth tried to put forward a compass to guide economic values by bringing together human and ecological values in a single model.
