Koksidini; Bel Ağrısının Az Bilinen Bir Nedeni

Coccydynia; Little-Known Cause of Low Back Pain

The true incidence of coccygodynia is unknown. But female gender and obesity are the most important risk factors for coccygodynia. It is five times more common in women than in men. The most common cause of coccygodynia is a direct fall on the coccyx or recurrent micro-trauma. Recurrent trauma and repeated stress, such as riding, cycling, motorcycle and sitting on a hard floor for a long time can also be effective in the formation of coccygodynia. Etiology is not known in 30% of patients. The first step in the treatment of coccygodynia should be pharmacological treatment. Analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and opioids may be used in conjunction with sitting wheels. Physical therapy agents, manual therapy, algological procedures and surgical procedures are applied if there is no relief of symptoms.
