The effects of serum IgG and trace elements-copper and zinc on the developments of Kıvırcık lambs following colostrum intake

Factors influencing the serum concentrations of IgG, zinc and copper during the postnatal period were studied in Kıvırcık lambs. Thirty-five Kıvırcık lambs and ewes from The Farm of Veterinary Faculty of The Istanbul University were used. After lamb, blood samples were taken from lambs at O.h. 24.h, 48.h, 72.h and 10 and 30 days after birth and O.h, 24.h, 72.h and 10. days after birth from ewes. There were no significant effects of age of dam, sex of lamb on the serum IgG, zinc and copper concentrations from birth to 30 days of age. Body weight gain in lambs by the 10th day was higher (p
