Forest fires in Turkey
Türkiye Akdeniz'e kıyısı olan ülkelerden birisidir. Bu bölge orman yangınlarının^ çıkması ve yayılması için çok elverişli şartlara sahiptir. Bu yüzden Türkiye'de her yıl çok sayıda ve çeşitli büyüklükte orman yangınları çıkmaktadır. Orman yangınları özellikle Türkiye'nin Akdeniz, Ege ve Marmara böl¬gelerinde büyük zararlar yapmaktadır. Türkiye'de 1937-1995 yılları arasın¬da 58731 yangın çıkmış ve 1448513 hektar ormanı yakmıştır. Yangın koruma ve söndürme çalışmaları Orman Genel Müdürlüğü'nün Merkez ve taşra teşkilatı tarafından yapılmaktadır.
Türkiye'de orman yangınları
Turkey is located in the Mediterranean area. This area has a very suit¬able cHniatfe.condition for the ignition and spreading out of the forest fires. "Because 8Ç|)?ese climatic conditions, Turkey has suffered from several forest fires of various sizes every year. Forest fires is one of the main destructive factors of the Turkish forests. Forest fires cause great damage especially in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara regions of Turkey. In these regions especially Antalya, Muğla and İzmir Forest Regional Directorates are exposed to the most destructive forest fires. In Turkey 58,731 forest fires occurred and 1,448,513 hectares of forest area burned between 1937-1995. Fire protection and control activities are being done by the Central and Provincial Organizations of the Forest Service.
