Bir buhar sıkıştırmalı soğutma veya ısı pompası sisteminin tasarımında doğrusal olmayan denklemler elde edilir. Bu sistemlerin en uygun şekilde tasarlanması, elde edilen denklemlerin çözümüne bağlıdır. Bu makalede örnek bir su soğutma sistemi ele alınarak tasarım denklemleri elde edilmiştir. Bu denklemlerin çözümü Newton-Raphson ve önerilen bir yöntem ile yapılmış, yöntemlerin kullanılması ile elde edilen sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır.

Non-linear equations are obtained in the design of the vapour-compression cooling system or heat pump. The best design of these systems depends on the solution of the equations obtained. A water cooling system has been treated in this paper. The non-linear equations of the system have been obtained by writing the mass, energy and other equations for the entire or some part of the cooling systems. An algorithm and Newton-Raphson's method have been used to solve these equations. The solutions obtained by using two different methods have been compared.
