Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’nin modernleşme sürecinde önemli katkıları olan eğitmen, eğitim yöneticisi, spor yöneticisi ve siyasetçi Selim Sırrı Tarcan’ın, Türk eğitimciler ve eğitim yöneticileri için bir rehber niteliğinde yazılmış olan “İbtidâi Muallimlerine Öğütlerim” adlı eserini günümüz Türkçesi ile tanıtılmasıdır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde Selim Sırrı Tarcan’ın hayatı ve eğitim anlayışına değinilmiş, beden eğitimi ve spor felsefesi de incelenmiştir.

The purpose of this study to introduce the work of Selim Sırrı Tarcan “İbtidai Muallimlerine Öğütlerim” (My Advices to Primary School Teachers) by the present-day Turkish, which had been written as a guide for Turkish trainers and training managers. In the first part of study, it is mentioned about the life and training understanding of Selim Sırrı Tarcan as instructor, trainning and sports manager who has important contributions to Turkish modernization process and also focused on phsysical education and sports philosophy
