Study and Control of a Variable-Speed Wind-Energy System Connected to the Grid

This paper deals with the modeling and the control of a PMSG-based variable-speed wind turbine connected to the grid. The proposed wind system is integrated with static converters on a DC bus by using a suitable control system. this DC bus is coupled with the grid through a static inverter.  The wind turbine control based on the Pitch regulation, allowed the extraction of the maximum power (MPPT). The modelling of the converters is made by using the concept of instantaneous average value. To control the voltage of the continuous bus and the exchanges of active and reactive powers, we are ensured via the proportional integral controllers. Finally, the performances of the studied generation system are evaluated through some simulation works.
