A- STATE-OF-THE-ART SURVEY ON IMAGE ENCRYPTION AND DECRYPTION TECHNIQUES

In the present era of social media and smartphones, when almost all the smartphone users are clicking and posting their pictures on social media, then at this time the security of the transmitted images is of utmost importance. Colored images are widely used due to economically affordable gadgets as compared to the gray images and moreover they contain more information in them. In this paper, a state-of-the-art survey of various techniques provided by the researchers in the area of image encryption is presented and a detailed comparison on various available techniques and algorithms in the area of image encryption is done. This paper also compares these techniques on the basis of their performance like NPCR, UACI, Correlation Coefficient, Entropy etc.
