Friction stir spot welding (FSSW) method is prone to automation. In this way, by integrating the robot and automation systems have been easily developed. Thanks to the method, the effective overlapping joints can be obtained a short processing time. Hardware, software and processing parameters could be developed. Thus the FSSW method has allowed using of a standard industrial robot. Although using machines in the FSSW method have basically similar control systems, the machines indicate varies in terms of mechanical equipments. There are basically three type machine design in the FSSW method. In this method, brench-top FSSW machine, stationary type or press type FSSW machines and FSSW robots can be used. If the FSSW method is investigated in terms of hardware, the method have rather a simple equipment.
