Hemşirelerin İntramüsküler Enjeksiyon Bilgi ve Uygulamalarına Eğitimin Etkisi: Z Tekniği ve Ventrogluteal Alan
Amaç: Araştırma, hemşirelerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamasında Dorsogluteal ve Ventrogluteal bölge seçimi ile Z tekniğine yönelik bilgi ve uygulama sıklığında eğitimin etkinliğinin değerlendirilmesi amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve yarı deneysel nitelikteki bu çalışma bir Üniversite Hastanesinde çalışan 169 hemşire ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verileri toplamak amacı ile sosyo-demografik özelliklere ilişkin soru formu, Z Teknik ve Ventrogluteal Bölgeye enjeksiyon ile ilgili bilgi formu, intramüsküler enjeksiyonda Dorsogluteal bölge, Ventrogluteal bölge ve Z tekniğini tercih etme nedenleri, intramüsküler enjeksiyonda Ventrogluteal, Dorsogluteal bölgeler ve Z tekniğini eğitim öncesi ve sonrası uygulama sıklıkları kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdeler, ortalamalar, Cochran’s Q Testi, McNemar Testi, Friedman Testi, Marjinal Homojenlik Testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Z Tekniği ve Ventrogluteal Bölge ile ilgili bilgi sorularına verilen doğru cevapların eğitim öncesi 10,4±2,17 , eğitim sonrası 14,7±1,48 ve izlem 14,2±1,49 toplam puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark saptanmıştır. The Effect of Education on Knowledge and Administration of Intramuscular Injection of Nurses: Z Technique and Ventrogluteal Site
Objective: The research was carried out to assess effectiveness of education on knowledge and frequency of practice on Dorsogluteal and Ventrogluteal site selection and Z technique in intramuscular injections of nurses. Method: The descriptive and quasi-experimental research was carried out with 169 nurses working at a university hospital. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire form for socio-demographic characteristics, an information form about Z technique and intramuscular injection to Ventrogluteal site, propositions including reasons of choosing Dorsogluteal, Ventrogluteal sites and Z technique in intramuscular injection, questionnaire about the frequency of use of Ventrogluteal, Dorsogluteal sites and Z technique before and after the education on intramuscular injection. Percentages, means, Cochran’s Q Test, McNemar Test, Friedman Test, Marginal Homegeneity Test were used to assess the data. Results: There were statistically significant differences between mean scores of correct answers to questions asked about Z tehcnique and Ventrogluteal site before education 10.4±2.17 , after education 14.7±1.48 and during follow-up 142±149 . Nurses’ frequency of prefering Ventrogluteal site 68.6% and using Z technique 68.6% increased after education. Conclusion: It was found that majority of the nurses did not attend to in-service training on intramuscular injection, and mean knowledge scores and use of ventrogluteal site increased after education and during followup compared to before education. Preferences of nurses about using ventrogluteal site and Z technique changed in a positive direction after education and during follow-up. It was suggested that knowledge and skills of nurses about intramuscular injection should be developed and kept up to date by means of in-service training programs
