The Political Baekground of The Mongolian Conquest and Hülagü's West Conquest (1256-1260)

After the election of Möngka Qan (1252-1259), he decided to expand the borders of the empire; consequently, Hülagü Qan was given the duty to invade the South West Asia. This paper examines the west conquest of Hülagü Qan in between the years 1256-1260 from the points of Mongolian conquests and the political background of the conquests.
