The karyotype analysis of Lilium martagon L.(Liliaceae) with B chromosome

The karyotype analysis of Lilium martagon L.(Liliaceae) with B chromosome

In this study, karyotype ofLilium martagon L. with B chromosome collected from Istanbul, Beykoz - is given for the first time. Its chromosome number has been determined as 2n = 24 + 1B. The karyotype of L. martagon is characterized by one metacentric (pairl) with the centromere at the median region; one submetacentric (pair2) with the centromere at the submedian region; three subterminal (pair 7, 9 &11) with the centromere at the terminal region; seven terminal (pair 3-6, 8, 10&12) with centromere at the terminal region and has one B chromosome, additionally. As a consequence, this karyotype has the idiogrammatic formula: 1 m+1 sm + 3st + 7t+1B chromosome.
