Guillain-Barré sendromu erken tanı ve tedavisindeki engel: Ense sertliği

Guillain-Barré Sendromu akut, hızlı progresif, asendan, simetrik güçsüzlük ve arefleksi ile karakterize akut inflamatuvar poliradikü- lonöropatidir. Bu sendromda tanı öykü ve muayeneye büyük ölçüde bağlı olmakla birlikte beyin omurilik sıvısı analizi ve elektrodiag- nostik testlerle dogrulanır. Bazı vakalarda atipik bulgular tanıda gecikmeye neden olabilir. Bu yazıda ense sertliği gibi atipik bulgusu olan GBS'li 66 yaşında kadın hasta sunuldu.

Difficulty in early diagnosis and treatment of Guillain-Barré syndrome: Neck stiffness

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rapidly progressive, acute, inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy. It typically presents as an acute as- cending symmetrical weakness with areflexia.The diagnosis of this syndrome is dependent heavily on the history and examination, although cerebrospinal fluid analysis and electrodiagnostic testing usually confirm the diagnosis. In some cases atypical presentation may cause a delay in diagnosis. In this paper, we presented a 66 year old women with GBS who showed neck stiffness as an atypical symptom.
