Özellikle yaz aylarında ülkemizin kırsal bölgelerinde sık karşılaşılan yılan sokmaları, nadir de olsa ölüme neden olabilen fakat yeterince önemsenmeyen acil durumlardır. Olguların çoğunda, toksinin şiddetine bağlı olarak lokal ve sistemik belirtiler ortaya çıkar. Yılan ısırması olgularında, nefrotoksisite sonucunda akut böbrek yetmezliği gelişmesi mortaliteyi ciddi biçimde arttıran bir nedendir. Bu yazıda yılan ısırması sonrası akut böbrek yetmezliği gelişen ve uygun tedavi ile taburcu edilen bir olgu sunulmuş, konu güncel literatür bilgileri ile tartışılmıştır.

Snake bites that are frequently encountered cases especially during summertime in our rural areas of our country are emergency cases that are not considered enough though they can rarely cause death. In most of the cases, local and systemic symptoms occur depending on the severity of the toxin. In snake bite cases, the development of acute renal failure as a result of nephrotoxicity is a reason to increase mortality in severely. In this study, a case in which acute renal failure was developed after snake bite is submitted.
