Ensefaloseller kalvaryum dışına uzanan meninks, BOS ve serebralparankimi içeren keselenmelerdir. Etmoidal ensefalosel lamina kribrozadaki defekte bağlı gelişmekte olup rinorenin nadir nedenlerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Ensefalosel tanısı radyolojik olarak kemik defektin ve etmoid hava hücrelerine uzanan kesesinin gösterilmesiyle konulmaktadır. Bu çalışmada tekrarlayan rinoreye neden olan beyin BT’de retansiyon kisti ve mukozal kalınlaşmayla karıştırılmış etmoidal ensefaloselli bir olgu sunulmaktadır.

Encephaloceles are protrusion of meninges, CSF, and brain tissue in the extra calvarial area. The ethmoidal encephalocele is a defect in the lamina cribrosa and is one of the rare causes of rhinorrhea. The diagnosis of encephalocele is made radiologically by showing the bone defect and the sac extending to the ethmoid air cells. In this study, we present a case of ethmoidal encephalocele confused with retention cyst and mucosal thickening in brain CT which causes recurrent rhinorrhea
