Katarakt Cerrahisi Sonrası Erken Dönem Görme Keskinliği Üzerine Diyabet ve
Hipertansiyonun Etkisi
The Effect Of Diabetes and Hypertension On Visual Acuity For Early Period After Cataract surgery
Purpose: To evaluate the effect of diabetes and hypertension on visual acuity for early period after cataract surgery. Material and Methods: The patients who operated with phacoemulsification surgery between January 2007 and December 2009 were evaluated retrospectively. The patients divided in to three groups: group one have not any systemic diseases, group two with hypertension and group three with diabetes. Results: The control, hypertension and diabetic group constituted of 190, 79 and 66 patients, respectively. Among the groups there were no difference for gender (p<0.001). There were more female patients in hypertension group (<0.001). There were no statistically significant difference for visual acuity scores between the groups at first day and second week after the surgery (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in visual acuity scores across the three groups. Conclusion: There were no significant difference for visual acuity scores early period in the patients with hypertension and diabetes compared with patients who have not any systemic disease. Key worlds: Phacoemulsification, hypertension, diabetes, visual acuity scores across the three groups. Conclusion: There were no significant difference for visual acuity scores early period in the patients with hypertension and diabetes compared with patients who have not any systemic disease.
