Araştırma Görevlilerinin Yaşam Biçimleri ve Şiddete Maruz Kalma Durumları
Amaç: Bu çalışmada, bir üniversite hastanesinde görev yapan araştırma görevlilerinin, demografik özellikleri, uzmanlık tercihleriyle ilgili memnuniyetleri ile yaşam biçimlerinin değerlendirilmesi ve son zamanlarda ülkemizde giderek artan, hatta ölümlere bile neden olan hekimlere yönelik şiddete dikkat çekmek için araştırma görevlilerinin şiddete maruz kalma durumları ile etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenerek şiddetin önlenmesi için gerekli tedbirlerin alınması amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Mayıs–Haziran 2012 tarihleri arasında yapılan kesitsel nitelikteki bu çalışmaya Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde görev yapan tüm araştırma görevlilerinin alınması planlanmıştır (n=102). Veriler izinli/raporlu olmayan ve onam vererek çalışmaya katılan 89 (87.2%) araştırma görevlisinin demografik özellikleri, yaşam biçimleri ile meslek hayatı boyunca şiddete maruz kalma durumları ve etkileyen faktörleri öğrenmeyi amaçlayan sorular içeren bir anket formunun yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle uygulanmasıyla elde edilmiştir. Bulgular: Yaş ortalaması 29.7±3.2 yıldır. %83.1’inin düzenli spor yapmadığı, %68.5’inin düzenli kahvaltı yapmadığı, %58.4’ünün yeterli ve dengeli beslenmediği, %73.0’ının düzenli ve yeterli uyku uyuyamadığı saptanmıştır. Yarısından fazlası en az bir kez istifa etmeyi düşünmüştür. Asistanlık sonrası işiyle ilgili kaygı duyanların oranı %53.9’dur. %86.5’i çalıştıkları bölümleri isteyerek seçmiştir. %65.2’si en az bir kez şiddete maruz kalmıştır. Şiddete maruziyet oranı temel bölümlerde %50.0, dahili bölümlerde %55.3, cerrahi bölümlerde ise %80.6’dır (p<0.05). Şiddetin %94.8’si sözel, %5.2’si fizikseldir. Sonuç: Araştırma görevlilerinin yaşam biçimiyle ilgili sorunlara yönelik gerekli tedbirler alınmalı, yeterli düzeyde beslenme, uyku, dinlenme ve sosyal aktivitelere katılma olanağı sağlanmalıdır. Sağlık personeline yönelik şiddet ile ilgili ciddi yaptırımlar getirilmeli, sağlık otoriteleri gerekli adımları ivedilikle atmalı ve sağlık çalışanlarının yanında olduğunu hissettirmelidir.
Life Styles and Exposure to Violence of Research Asistants
Aim: In this study, it is intended to determine the demographic characteristics, satisfaction about preferences of their speciality, to evaluate the conditions of living and education and to to attract the attention the violence that is incerasing and even cause death in recent times of the research assistants, who are specializing in Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine and to take measures which is necessary. Material and Methods: This crosssectional study was done 15 May to 15 June 2012, at the Faculty of Medicine Gaziosmanpaşa University. In this study research assistants answered a questionnaire form by face to face interviewing method. Demographic characteristics, conditions of social life and education, exposuring violence during their lives while working in health sector and details about violence was asked in this questionaire form. Statistics packet program was used to analyse the data; frequency, percentage, ratio, standard deviation, Chi-square test and Fisher Chisquare test have been used in the analyses. Results: 67.4% of reserch assistants is man, 32.6% is woman. Mean age of them is 29.7±3.2. 83.1% do not sport regularly, 68.5% have not breakfast regularly, 58.4% do not have adequate and balanced nutrition, 73.0% do not have regular and adequate sleep. 89.9% do not participate in social activities which are conducted by the university. More than half of research assistants think to step down at least one time. 53.9% concern about their job after the process of assistantship. 65.2% of the participants have been exposed to violence at least once. Assistants exposed to violence whom 50.0% of basic sciences55.3% of medical scinces, 80,6 of surgical sciences (p<0.05). Violence, 94.8% percent verbal, and 5.2% is physical. 46.6% in the emergency departments, 41.4% of the outpatient clinics, 8,6% were in the inpatient services. 89.7% did not tell judicial authorities who are subjected to violence. 65% have suffered loss of performance. 24.1% experienced psychological problems, and 5.2% thought of changing partition, and 8.6% thought that to resign. Conclusion: Most of research asistants’ life style have negative affected. Two thirds of assistants have been exposed to violence. Nearly half of the violence in the emergency departments. Surgical departments are more risky than other sections of work in terms of exposure to violence. Reserch assistants should be allowed for adequate nutrition, sleeping, resting and join social activities. The laws relating to violence about health personnel should be reviewed and should be serious sanctions. Health authorities should take the necessary steps urgently and must make feel that they protect health care workers.
