ABSTRACT In this study, it is tried to find out how it is shaped in utopias generally the city especially the residential areas. The impacts of utopias on housing typologies are argued as well. The study is undertaken  in two major parts. Firstly, housing typologies which are proposed from different utopias are introduced then the utopias and the housing typologies which are generated especially for the city of Ankara are evaluated.  As a result it is seen that the aim of utopias are to find out the ideal conditions for social, cultural and economical structure. In this context some clues are explored how utopias shape the cities and housing.   Key Words: Utopia, Housing, Typology, Ankara
