THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION OF A PULSE-WIDTH MODULATED ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC SERVO SYSTEM

In this study, the open loop and closed loop behaviours of a pulse-width modulated electro-hydraulic system are investigated theoretically. First a mathematical model is formulated for the system and methods for obtaining system responses to pulsewidth modulated inputs are developed. Using these methods, the responses of the open loop and closed loop hydraulic systems to pulse-width modulated step, periodic and aperiodic inputs are calculated. Effect of pulse frequency on the system response is investigated.
