Nozul tipinin hava atomize aluminyum tozu boyutuna etkisi

Effect of nozzle type on the particle size of air atomised aluminium powders

In this study, the effect of nozzle type on the particle size of air atomised aluminium powders, produced by using Mannesmann and Laval nozzles was investigated. Atomisation experiments have been carried out in the Gazi Gas Atomi sation Unit. Although Laval type nozzles had high metal/gas flow rates, they produced finer powders than Mannesmann type nozzles. Furthermore, the powder production rate also increased approximately four times when Laval nozzles were used and the gas consumption decreased the same ratio. Air atomised aluminium powders have bimodal size distribution, irregular shapes and show cellular-dendritic surfaces.
