Mimarlık tasarımı paradigmasında biomimesis'in etkisi

“Biomimesis”, canlı cansız varlıkların taklit edilerek yeni tasarımlara esin kaynağı olması kavramı 20.yüzyılın sonunda literatüre girmiş, doğadan esinlenme/öğrenme/uyarlama ve/veya uygulama biçimlerinin neler olabileceği ve farklı bilgi/teknoloji alanlarında nasıl kullanılabileceği sistematik olarak tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada tarih boyunca pek çok alanda izlediğimiz doğa-insan etkileşiminin mimarlıktaki yansıma biçimleri binaların ait oldukları çağa göre öne çıkmışlıkları göz önünde bulundurularak örneklendirilmiş ve doğadan esinlenme süreci tartışılmıştır. Günümüzde hızla gelişmekte olan sayısal ve bilişim teknolojileri ile birlikte “mimarın” doğadaki oluşum süreçlerinden, biçimsel/görsel esinlenmenin ötesinde öğrenebilecekleri konusunda yeni bir tartışma ortamı yaratılması amaçlanmıştır.

Impact of biomimesis in architectural design paradigm

“Biomimesis”, imitation of animate and inanimate forms in nature to inspire new designs, is a term introduced at the end of 20th century, since then the way of inspiring/learning/adapting and/or implementing processes from nature and conception of how to be employed in different information/technology fields has been discussed systematically. In this study, some benchmark examples of human-nature interactions in architecture are introduced in a chronological order and their inspiration processes from nature are discussed. Moreover, it is aimed to initiate a platform in architecture which will serve for discussions to explore the potentials of these interactions under the impact of computational and information technologies, not only in terms of formal/visual way, but also extending to learn more about the formation process in nature.
