Gambiya Batı Afrika\'da küçük bir ülkedir. 1965 yılına kadar İngiliz sömürgesi olan Gambiya\'nın resmi dili İngilizcedir. Ülkede her kabile kendi dilini kullanmakta olup bunların hiçbiri yazılı değildir. Çeşitli sorunlar nedeniyle yabancı dil öğrenimi yeterince yapılamamakta, bu nokta insanlar arasındaki iletişimde olduğu gibi, ülke kalkınmasının da önündeki en büyük engellerden birini oluşturmaktadır.

The Gambia is a small country, situated in west Africa. It was colonized by The UK till 1965. The official language there is English. Each tribe in the country has its own language but none is written. Because of various problems, the teaching of the foreign language is not sufficently given. This is a big obstacle not only for communication among people who live in the country, but also an obstacle for the development of the country.
